Gravitational potential energy is the potential energy a massive object has in relation to another massive object due to gravity. It is the potential energy associated with the gravitational field, which is released (converted into kinetic energy) when the objects fall towards each other. Gravitational potential energy increases when two objects are brought further apart.
My objective is to bring attention to human nature by setting up an object – banner that we may or may not see in our daily life everyday. A banner as a reminder, a window within artwork.
I wanted to express potential energy as a point of view. A point of view or perspective is the essence of understanding the world. The way that you look at are is informed by who you are, where you are physically at the moment and also where you are in life. Sometimes art is about shifting one’s relationship to the rest of the world. To me that is the highest value art can give: a way of seeing one thing that can be transferred to something else.
